Meet the 6x Ingredients

If you've spent much time on our website you've probably noticed that we talk a lot about our 6x pain relief formula. But what are the “6x ingredients”?

Let’s take an in-depth look at each of the 6 ingredients in our 6x formula to show you how they can help naturally relieve pain and inflammation.

Arnica

Arnica is an herb that is sometimes used to flavour foods. The active ingredients in arnica have been shown to reduce swelling and decrease pain. They do this by stimulating the body’s white blood cells to break down the fluid and excess blood that is trapped in the joints, muscles, and bruises.

Arnica gel is commonly used to treat the symptoms of osteoarthritis. A randomized study done in 2007 involving 204 people with osteoarthritis in their hands found that daily arnica gel was as effective as daily ibuprofen gel in treating pain symptoms. Another study done in 2002 involving 79 people with osteoarthritis in their knees found that arnica gel reduced pain and stiffness and improved function of the knee.

Camphor

Camphor oil is extracted from the wood of the camphor laurel tree. It is commonly used topically to help relieve pain and treat skin irritation. Camphor oil numbs and cools nerve endings, then warms the painful area as it increases circulation to stiff joints and muscles. It also has antibacterial and anti-fungal properties that make it useful in healing infections.

Camphor oil can also help reduce chronic muscle and joint pain over longer periods. One 2016 study, for example, showed that camphor oil helped relieve lower back pain.

Eucalyptus

Eucalyptus is a species of tree that is native to Australia but is now grown all over the world for use in various medical applications. Its oil can be used to suppress coughs, relieve chest congestion, disinfect wounds and ease joint pain. It is commonly used to treat muscle and joint pain linked to muscle strains and sprains, arthritis, and backaches.

In a study published in the American Journal of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, scientists applied eucalyptus on the forearm skin of 10 people. The scientists concluded that eucalyptus "produced significant physiologic responses that may be beneficial for pain relief.”

Menthol

Menthol is a chemical naturally found in mint plants like peppermint. It is known to temporarily relieve minor pain from arthritis, muscle sprains, and back pain. It's known as a "counter-irritant"; meaning that it produces a surface irritation of the skin; counteracting underlying pain or discomfort. It does this by producing a subtle cooling, then heating, sensation on the skin.

A 2014 study tested menthol treatments on 10 people suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome. At the conclusion of the study, it was noted that pain intensity in the arm and hand area decreased more after menthol treatments than it did when treated with a placebo.

Another study published in the International Journal of Sports Physical Therapy involved 16 individuals who performed exercises designed to create delayed muscle soreness in their elbow flexors. Two days later, when the soreness was likely to be present, some of the participants were treated with menthol while the others were treated with ice. After 20 minutes of treatment, those who were given the menthol treatment reported having lower levels of pain than those who used ice for the same period of time.

Methyl Salicylate (A.K.A. Wintergreen)

Methyl Salicylate is an oil that is traditionally extracted from the leaves of the wintergreen plant. It contains an aspirin-like chemical that can be used to treat painful conditions including headache, nerve pain, arthritis, ovarian pain, and menstrual cramps.

A 2010 study tested a total of 208 patients suffering from mild to moderate muscle strains. The study concluded that the patients given an active patch containing methyl salicylate experienced significantly greater pain relief (around 40%) than those given a placebo.

Methyl Sulfonyl Methane (MSM)

Methyl Sulfonyl Methane (MSM) is a chemical that naturally occurs in humans as well as some plants and animals. It is essential for supporting many different functions and proper cell structure, and for reversing free-radical damage to cells. MSM is commonly used to lessen inflammation and reduce swelling. Studies have shown that MSM significantly reduces inflammation in your body. It also inhibits the breakdown of cartilage, a flexible tissue that protects the ends of your bones in joints.

A study done with 100 people over the age of 50, for example, found that treatment with a supplement containing 1,200 mg of MSM for 12 weeks decreased pain, stiffness, and swelling in the joints when compared to a placebo. The group receiving the supplement also reported improved overall quality of life and less difficulty walking and getting out of bed.

Experience Our 6x Formula In Action

While all of these ingredients are proven, effective pain relievers, most pain-relieving products contain just 1 or 2 of them. This is because combining them properly is extremely difficult. Fortunately, the Canadian medical team at KaLaya Health & Wellness has managed to successfully combine them into our 6x pain relief formula.

Want to experience the power of a pain reliever with 6 active ingredients? Check out our 6x Extra Strength Pain Relief Cream. This product combines all 6 naturally occurring active pain-blocking and anti-inflammatory ingredients in one luxurious cream so that you can rediscover life without pain.
